You can include your request in the note section of the content upload form when you submit your content, or via the website contact form.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated!

We understand many people have similar ideas and experiences, but we will not tolerate plagiarism.

  • Word-for-word copy and submission of someone else's work
  • Stealing original ideas or content and presenting them as your own
  • We are totally serious about this -- even stock art must have an attribution!

Please contact us if you have any questions or are unclear about what constitutes plagiarism. We can be reached via the website contact form.

Topics

Articles and graphics should support the idea of starting and growing a business as an entrepreneur, small business owner, or freelancer. Typical articles would share information about overcoming business challenges, general business management, sales, marketing, technology, or any topic that would be of interest to a freelancer or small business owner.

Content

Written

A typical Flackery article is approximately 600 - 800 words, but we will consider shorter or longer pieces. (800 words are roughly 4 pages with graphics -- this is about the maximum a reader will tolerate in digital format.) While you are welcome to submit content you have already posted on your own business blog, the article should adhere to a neutral journalism style rather than unsupported, first-person opinion. With rare exceptions, contributor articles should contain at least two quotes or citations, and/or links to where the supporting data can be found. We will not accept any content that contains statistical data without a citation or a source. Please provide graphics when available. We can supply some stock art, but it is always better to use original graphics. Be sure to include the attribution if you did not take the photo or design the image. (That is, the name of the person who created the graphic image and where you found it.)

NOTE: We will research images and may request proof that you own the right to use it.

Graphic submission format should be svg, jpg, or pdf with a resolution of 300dpi.

Video

Video content must be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo to be included in our publications, websites, or platforms. If you would like to embed video into your article or ad, please include the URL where it is located on the web.

Artwork

Infographics, cartoons, and similar graphics make digital magazines interesting and we welcome your original artwork submission. Please include the attribution, or proof you own the right to use it, if you did not take the photo, design the image, or if the graphic uses stock art. (That is, the name of the person who created the graphic image and where you found it.) Submission format for artwork should be svg or jpg with a resolution of 300dpi.

NOTE: Please use the content upload form to send graphics as some email clients compress large images down to 72dpi. See the Ads & Content section for the latest forms.

Sponsored posts will adhere to the stated guidelines for written content and artwork and may be subject to a "Sponsored Content" label along with any relevant links in the footer of the article. The publisher will have final determination whether the content is an article, advertisement, or sponsored content.

Publishing Policies

The publisher retains the right to reject or cancel any ad or content that is not in keeping with the publication's submission standards. We may also, at our discretion, remove or reassign non-paid content to other platforms or publications owned or managed by The Business Guild.

Advertisers and contributors will assume liability for all content including text, representation, and illustrations of advertising or submitted content and also assume responsibility for any claims arising therefrom against the publisher.

The publisher also reserves the right to place the word "Advertisement" of "Sponsored Content" on ads or article content, which in the publisher's opinion, appears to be an advertisement or editorial content.

Flackery digital magazine is meant to be an informational marketing vehicle for participating members and contributors of The Business Guild. The quality of the content is a reflection on The Business Guild, guild members, and contributors.
